A successful Christmas 2005 shopping trip!

DJF board members came out on December 10, 2005 to start the shopping. We filled several carts with items from the family wish lists, and can't wait to deliver the gifts! We also want to thank Peggy who was so patient in ringing up the overflowing carts filled with gifts, she was filled with holiday cheer!

We then took the gifts back to the workshop where we sorted them out and checked our list to be sure everyone got lots of wonderful surprises. The workshop is buzzing with gifts, and we're starting our deliveries!

Thank you to all of our board members and volunteers who have worked so hard!

Christmas 2005 Gift Delivery:

“Thank you so much for your kind words. Collaborating with wonderful people in the community, like yourself-- makes my work so much more enjoyable, meaningful and satisfying... Thank YOU!”

“It was truly a pleasure to meet you and your enthusiasm for giving is contagious!  You're an amazing shopper with phenomenal taste- so thoughtful about what each child might like, and so considerate of every detail...  you have a very big heart! Having met you, your son and your friend and seen photos of your husband, I really feel his generous, big-hearted spirit and love for children in each and every gift.”

“We shared your foundation information and explained to her how your husband loved 'Christmas and children and giving'... and she truly appeared saddened by your recent loss and at the same time, deeply touched by your family's generosity.  She signed 'you all must have 'very big hearts' and I said yes, you certainly do... and then she gave me a warm and appreciative hug-- and I told her the hug was really for you and your family- so she asked me to pass it along.  Consider yourself 'hugged'! by a very appreciative single mother who is thrilled to be able to have very special Christmas with her little girl.”

“It's truly been a pleasure to be part of your exciting project and to get to know you.”
